Intervala Participates in Teacher in the Workplace Program

In keeping with our commitment to STEM education, we happily hosted Allie Grimm, a coding teacher with Southmoreland School District, at our manufacturing facility in Mount Pleasant, Pa. Her visit was part of the Westmoreland-Fayette Workforce Investment Board's Teacher in the Workplace program. The program focuses on connecting educators and school administrators with local industry leaders to help the educators understand better what local businesses in the manufacturing, healthcare, business services, technology and trade sectors do, the career opportunities they offer, and the skills students will need to be successful in these careers.

During her visit, Allie met with a variety of Intervala staff members, toured our production floor, participated in some hands-on STEM activities, and even conducted a job shadow session with one of our production floor operators to get a first-hand view of the kind of work we do here.

We’re excited to continue this partnership for the third year in a row and are committed to inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders.

Intervala Reinforces Workplace Culture with Employee Brunch

In honor of World Egg Day last week, we hatched a plan to host a “Be the EGGS-ample” brunch for our team members! Part of our internal Make It Happen workplace culture campaign, the event’s name was a fun play on words while reminding everyone to embody our core values and stay true to our purpose to solve our customers’ problems. Throughout the year, we have been finding fun ways to reinforce the importance of making a positive difference for our customers, including communicating honestly and clearly, keeping our commitments and doing things right the first time. And that’s no yolk.

Intervala Hosts Manufacturing Day Event for Local Students

At Intervala, every day is about manufacturing! On this year’s Manufacturing Day, we also opened our doors to a group of students and teachers from nearby Franklin Regional Middle School to demonstrate the vibrant and interesting careers that exist in modern-day, high-tech manufacturing.

Our guests toured Intervala’s state-of-the-art electronics manufacturing factory in Mount Pleasant, Pa., and had the opportunity to participate in a hands-on manufacturing activity. They also heard from team members in operations, engineering, supply chain and program management about building a career in the manufacturing sector. Following a pizza lunch, the students headed back to school with some Intervala swag and a Manufacturing Day T-shirt.

Thank you for visiting us, Franklin Regional Middle School! We loved having you here and hope our paths cross again in the future!

Intervala Hosts Employee Car and Motorcycle Show, Benefits Nonprofits

Intervala hosted an employee car and motorcycle show, aptly named the Vala-Cruise and it was a roaring success! Employees had the chance to show off their prized wheels, and it was incredible to see the variety and passion on display.

The event featured live music from kalandmoore, delicious food from Chuck Wagon Sub Shop and Vagabond Taco Trucks, an employee-sponsored bake sale, and exciting prizes and raffles. The kiddos even got to tour a fire truck thanks to New Stanton Fire Department.

Kal and Moore provided the soundtrack to Intervala's car and motorcyle show.

Employees and their families joined in the fun, making it a truly memorable day. Proceeds from this event benefitted Westmoreland Community Action. All bake sale donations went to Heal Animal Rescue in Youngwood, PA and all 50/50 proceeds were donated to Clelian Heights School in Greensburg, Pa., with the winning ticket pulled by William Green, a senior at Clelian Heights. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event a success!
