Chili, charity and cheer! Intervala recently hosted a fall luncheon for all employees. Everyone brought their Intervala spirit and their appetites! We kicked things off with an amazing chili lunch catered by Pittsburgh-based Jaden’s Catering, followed by our pumpkin decorating and carving contest. Congratulations to employees Mercedes Matesic, who took first place, and runner up Heather Saccamago. Our Halloween-themed basket raffle, featuring two tickets to Kennywood Park Phantom Fright Nights, brought in $200, which the company matched. We are proud to present a $400 donation to A Glimmer of Hope Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit supporting breast cancer research and programs. Happy Fall to everyone! #IntervalaInspires

Last week Intervala concluded its school supply drive to benefit victims of Hurricane Harvey. Our employees came together to collect over 1,000 new supplies, including hundreds of crayons, notebooks, rulers, erasers and pencils, for children affected by the disaster. President and CEO Teresa Huber was on hand to help with the delivery. We partnered with Pittsburgh-based Brother’s Brother Foundation (BBF) to have these much-needed items delivered.
The category 4 hurricane dumped over 30 trillion gallons of water over Texas and Louisiana and forced more than 30,000 people, including many children, into emergency shelters. BBF has served 149 countries worldwide with over 105,000 tons of medicines, medical equipment, textbooks, educational supplies, and emergency disaster aid since its founding in 1958. A huge thank you to our employees for their amazing generosity and to BBF for all they do!
Intervala will attend the Pittsburgh Technology Council’s Hire UP job fair on Thursday, October 26 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm ET at the University of Pittsburgh.
We have a great internship and co-op program through the University of Pittsburgh for engineering students looking to apply their theoretical knowledge learned in the classroom to real life scenarios in a manufacturing environment. If you’re looking for an internship with hands-on experience, this is the opportunity for you! Our internship program is open to all students pursuing a technical, four-year engineering degree. The co-op program is currently available only to Pitt freshman and sophomores, due to a limited number of openings.
In addition to our internship and co-op program opportunities, Intervala has full-time engineering positions available for alumni or recent grads with prior applicable experience.

Intervala hit the links to benefit Habitat for Humanity. Our company was a threesome sponsor for customer Komatsu Mining Corp’s seventh annual golf outing, held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Including our participation, the 2017 event generated $85K to support Habitat’s efforts in the Washington Park neighborhood of Milwaukee, just a few miles from a Komatsu facility. To date, this neighborhood has seen a 70 percent reduction in vacant lots and blighted properties, as well as a 48 percent reduction in crime. By the end of 2017, Habitat estimates its efforts will provide 215 Washington Park families with safe and stable homes. We are proud to support our customer Komatsu Mining Corp and its commitment to helping Habitat for Humanity provide safe and affordable housing to those in need. Click here to read more.
